The story of Flat Fee Landlord begins with our founder’s family, who immigrated to America from Afghanistan with little more than hope and determination. Growing up in a modest, working-class apartment, our founder, Mo Hashem, saw firsthand how a stable home could transform a family’s future. Through hard work, his parents steadily improved their living situation, creating a foundation of stability, safety, and opportunity.
“Watching my parents overcome challenges and build a life from scratch inspired me to create something meaningful,” Mo said. “Not just for myself, but for others facing their own challenges and aspirations. I saw real estate as a powerful tool for creating security, wealth, and community, but I also saw how complex it could be without the right guidance and support.”
After the 2009 financial crisis, Mo entered the real estate industry, motivated by a desire to help others navigate the complexities of property management. What started as a way to provide steady income and support for homeowners and tenants quickly evolved into a mission: to simplify real estate investing, create lasting value for clients, and foster stronger communities through responsible, compassionate property management.
